I will be sharing with you Chinese idioms (汉语成语), also known as Chengyu.
You may know already that Mandarin Chinese language comes with thousands of idioms (成语). Most of these idioms are associated with some form of stories, known as Idiom Stories (成语故事).
We, the native Chinese people, love using idioms. Even if you read a small piece of Chinese text, you are likely to encounter a couple of idioms.

It’s next to impossible to be fluent in Chinese without knowing these idioms. It doesn’t really matter you are a beginner, or advanced level Chinese learner, you can’t skip idioms. You have to know them. Don’t worry, the idioms are fun, and so are the idiom stories.
So, I have decided to bring the most common idioms for you. In fact, I have compiled a list of over 1000 idioms.
I will be sharing with you these idioms in the form of blog-posts and books.
For your convenience, for each idiom, I will include the pinyin Romanization, simplified characters, as well as the English interpretations of the idiom.
